Finally there actually getting there,, they have been saying for years there going to do it, but it seems it's nearly here.

I have a few issues with it me being me Laughing

One is the reciol effect as best as I remember was dropped very very early on as well the weapon was falic enough, when you first see it in the last episode of season one it doesn't have the top fin and it recoiled and well that looked WRONG,, Laughing so by the second episode I think it gained the top fin,, I also feel darn sure it stopped recioling shortly after too. This was for 2 reasons, 1 it looked dodgy lol but mainly reason 2 is if the actor hit the shoot button at the wrong time it could screw the shot up as you know when they hit the trigger, by removing the reciol function this ment that the post production guys didn't have to make the lightning bolt happen when the weapon recioled but instead when it technically fitted better with the timing of the hit on target.

The second is the on/off switch location,, where it is it will be very prone to changing states going in/out of holster or gauntlet, this could have been hidded very easily under the middle section where this would not have been an issue. Also don't like the charging point where it is, being honest don't know where else it could go but hey ho Laughing

And the whacking great screw holes Sad this really then drags it from high class replica to toy in looks, they got it soooo right in pretty much every respect apart from my above mentioned and to then put screw holes Blaaa..

NOW all that said,,, I still want one Laughing

I couldn't take my eyes off those massive screw holes, i can't see a way they can actually hide them, because even with a screw cap you'll still see them...
I want one but i have a feeling it'll be way out of my price range, i can't even afford a resin zat Sad If you feel like buying 2 though, i'm always happy to recieve presents Razz

Well I'm a small way through trying to make my own opening zat as got fed up waiting for QMX Laughing

What I was going to do was use uber strong numodium rare earth magnets embedded in each side, then the 2 halfs would hold tight together, but if you wanted to open it then you could, would take some small effort but it was the nice way to have a screw free join.

Also if they wanted to still use screws then place the screw poistion in a small segement between the detail lines, say you got three detail lines making a small triangle put the screw there, now here's the clever bit, you recess the triangle section and you make a plug section to go into the screw hole but the top of the plug is the triangle shape, that will sit flush with the rest of the surface, use the detail lines as seem lines, would look nice and have screw strength Smile

See I be clever me Laughing I did however download the video as I was still deciding on the workings, and well what they got works well so If I still do make my own i now think I'll be borowing there research Laughing It was great he even told me which model of servos sweet Smile

Where did you get the shell from your using? I'm having trouble finding a black P90 or a Zat that's in my price range, i found one that was like £80 but you had to build and paint it yourself and i'm rubbish at painting things.

If the zat you where looking at was this one...

http://www.frontiermodels.co.uk/STARGATE-SG1-ZATT-GUN-1-1-Resin-Model-Kit-p-16970.html

Don't bother, it's inacurate, oversized, and a bad cast at that,, I got one and well it's still sat in it's box, it's so bad I can't even be bothered to try put it together!

The shells I'm making not bought, still a work in progress, to be honest it's sat on the workbench going no where for months, I am just WAY to busy at the mo, and even if I do have time I seem to have used up all that money stuff you need for supplies Laughing

And as for getting a black P90 you won't unless your UKARA registered or part of a registered re-enactors club or film production company. Most here where lucky to get one before the rules kicked in or from people we know giving there's away as it where.

If you've got a non black one, just buy some black Krylon and spray the body. Airsofters use it a lot to change the colour of their guns. The airsoft P90s strip down really easily to allow you to spray the main body.
