So has anyone bought the newer remastered, updated blah blah blah version?
Is it any better than the originally screened version pilot episodes?
I'd really like to get it, just to have it in the collection but as yet still haven't got round to buying it!
So? What do you reckon? _________________ Elaine Andrews

I've seen some of the updated 'bits' on this version and what I saw looked good but I still haven't bought this version yet.....but I gotta admit to being on the fence about it, as it would be an extra SG dvd to the collection. How much is it going for now? _________________ - Chris

I've never been a massive fan of the stargate movie, purely because Kurt Russell is wrong... Obviously still own it though |

Now see, I loved loved loved the first original movie. L O V E D it!
So much so, when they brought the series out, I wouldn't watch it. There was no way it was going to live upto the original film.
It was only when I was signed off work sick during season 4 or 5 that i started to watch it, and then had to watch series 1 onwards on DVD to play catch up while watching S5!!!
The film still is special to me, even though SG1 is a lil' ole passion of mine now!
Hmm but I still may get the remastered Children of the Gods on DVD just so I have it! _________________ Elaine Andrews

I appreciate the film because if it wasn't for that we probally wouldn't have sg-1, but after watching RDA as Jack for so long i just can't look at Kurt Russell, way too weird.
I started watching SG1 when i was out of work, haha, i had 6 months out of work and sat and watched them all on sky1, i've never been the same since..
I wouldn't even like to think how much my stargate obsession has cost me since, it must be well over a £1000 by now (waiting for Lee to comment on his millions of pounds spent)
I also only finished watching Atlantis a few months ago, i pre ordered it when the complete boxset came out agess ago but was reluctant to watch it because i was stuck in my sg-1 ways, but what'd'ya, it's awesome aswell
I'm just gonna wait for Children of the Gods to go down in price, my priority is getting offworld atm |

The original movie looks great in Blu-Ray, so if you have a player, its worth getting. I know what you mean with Kurt Russell though. RDA was O'Neill, going back and seeing Kurt doing it is kinda weird. Same as James Spaders Daniel too really. Kurt Russell will always be Snake to me
I wondered if the new version of CotG was any good. So c'mon...is it worth purchasing? _________________
