Hey guys
I haven't posted on here for quite a while. Busy with other bits and bobs. Nice to get a away from all the crap - "Over there" too.
As some of you know I am catching up on SG episodes. Thanx to Jonas I am watching them in the right order...
A few thoughts to share...
SG1
Have now got onto Series 8 and the lego have now somehow evolved into people. 5th looks like a Jonathon Creek wannabee and Amanda Tapping is now a T1000! I stopped watching at that point and skipped a couple of episodes.
Replicators. Worst. Enemies. EVER!
Question: If you watch there are some episodes where Walter says they are receiving a radio signal / SG code etc, before the wormhole has been established. How is this possible or am I missing something?
On the other hand the rest of Season 8 has been amazing with some really good episodes. (Not sure about the Time Travel one I am currently watching 'Mobius' I think its called. This one seems a bit stupid). Nevertheless I am getting thru them at a reasonable rate and enjoying most of them. Like the Goa'uld infrastucture (Very clever) and the whole NID\Trust angle.
Still find it hard to beleive they are managing to keep the whole thing secret, with Promethus lifting off all the time and all out Alien attacks on earth. Do they not realise that there are a number of very high powered telescopes in public hands? Don't like this side of it.
SGA
Really, Really liking this. Good characters, locations and a brillant enemy, who is clever, interesting, scary and looks cool! (Everything lego spiders are not! )
Have not yet found an episode I didn't like...(So far!)
Character Musings:
Weir: Good, seems a little out of her depth, but improving.
Sheppard: Up his own ass too much, but can be funny occasionally, when he actually conseeds he is wrong!
Teyla: Annoying. She brings nothing to the table.
Ford: Smooth. I like him a lot. Understated and cool.
Mckay: Fantastic! Annoying in SG1, but has excelled in Atlantis. Very funny and you know how frustrated he is because he is so much smarter than everyone else.
No downsides to this although a couple of logical errors that I won't go into here... I have bored Jonas with them too much already!
SGU
Have to admit, not enjoying this very much at all. Have watched the first 9 episodes and nothing has happend. AT ALL!
The only charcter who has shown any real potential is Rush. Thats it. The others are about exciting as watching paint dry. And then waiting for it to peel!
Compare the first 9 episodes of Atlantis to the first 9 of Universe. Very Very differnt stuff. All for the show being darker. (Although finding a light switch on the destiny would be something happening!) but it seems slow and boring. All personal relationships and going back to Earth via the stones. Wheres the Sci-Fi? Wheres the suspense? Wheres the kick ass enemies? Wheres the action? Wheres the character development?
I find the stones stupid too. You actually switch personalities with each other leaving the bodies where they are. But they show the bodies as switched even tho they are not? Why? I had no problem keeping track of which personality was in who when they all swicthed about in SG1, so why do the producers think we can't do it here?
Also, a character seems to turn up in on Earth in someone elses body, find the person they wish to speak to.
"Who are you?" as they answer the door.
"Hey, its me..."
Shocked for 5 seconds then "Oh OK, Come in..."
Hmmmm, Of course people would react like this. They seem to interact as if nothing is different. Some even have sex. This is just so completly detached from anything resembleing how normal people would react.
Nah...! Not enjoying this Eastenders in Space. I will watch the next half of the season and hope that it improves...if it doesn't I don't think i will carry on with it.
Anyhoo, I still have 5 seasons of Atlantis to catch up on...YAY!
As I said, I haven't been on here for a while. Just thought I would share some thoughts running thru my sleep deprived brain.
Any comments welcome, good or bad. I'll see some of you at MEM if a few weeks.

Agreed on the Teyla front. I've just never taken to her at all. She is just plain annoying.
But McKay rules. I love the sparring that goes on between him and Zelenka. _________________

agree with you on the stargate universe part... after my mum had got to watching s5 of sg1 she was sick of it... mind you i think she tuned back iin through season 9 and ten to see what would happen...
when atlantis started i want sure if i liked it because of the totaly new cast but i love that too lol
and unviverse... how long can they go with sitting going through space?
i only got to the part when they had got the ship saved by going through the sun cos my sky plus box crashed 2 days before christmas (got a brand new one free of charge ) but really dont see anything interesting happening there...
would rather be watching Fringe or sanctuary than watch universe... that or do what happened with sg1 and atlantis... catch on mid season lol
think i started watching halfway through season 1, after one of my videos got taped over by singularity lol _________________ Stacey Burns

gotta agree with you there sir
when i got the full set i watched s2 (first box set i got back in 2005) until i remembered almost all the episodes in my head
and some of the eps when only sitting in the briefing room... you just gotta sit and watch them... and try and stay awake through them _________________ Stacey Burns
